Just in case I hadn’t made my feelings on Pullman clear yet, HIS DARK MATERIALS and THE FIREWORK-MAKER’S DAUGHTER are the two biggest influences on my writing, with the possible exception of SKELLIG and the EARTHSEA cycle.
